Finding & Adding Products

Can I browse all brands by category?

What if I can't find a product in the system and I need it for a project?

How do I swap out one product for another in my project?

What happens if I add a product to a project and the product is later discontinued?

How do I swap out one product for another in my project?

The Swap feature, located at the top right of the Edit Specification Page, allows for the swapping of one product out with another. This workflow allows you to swap out a product when all the information is the same, or mostly the same, but the specification item and/or brand are changing out.

There are two options to swap, by Brand Only or by Specification and Brand.

When swapping by Brand Only: brand name and brand URL will be replaced. Available Sales Rep information for the newly selected brand will appear as well. All other spec info will remain the same. Keep in mind that the specification image may take a few seconds to copy over, so don’t be alarmed if you temporarily see “No image”.

When swapping by Specification and Brand: specification's image, specification's name, brand name and brand URL will be replaced, available Sales Reps will appear for the new specification’s brand.

Can I browse all brands by category?

Yes! Super easy. In the header bar, click Brands A-Z. In the upper right corner, there is a "Categories" drop-down to scope the list of brands by parent category.

What if I can't find a product in the system and I need it for a project?

We are constantly identifying new brands and products to list on the site. Today, there are 250,000+ products representing 8,500+ brands. But we know that's not everything.

Say hello to Product Stubs, which is a feature that allows you as a user to essentially create a placeholder. Look to the right of the global search field in the black bar at the top of the page. Click the upward "Arrow" icon and you will land on the "Create Stub" page. Fill in the fields as prompted and click the "Create Stub" button at the bottom. Abracadabra. You now have yourself a product stub.

For your information, upon your creating a Product Stub (only if it's a Standard Product, not a Custom Product), our content team will reach out to the corresponding brand and invite them to take over the product stub, fill in complete product information, and upload the rest of their specifications.

Thank you for helping us grow and better serve the needs of the design industry.

What happens if I add a product to a project and the product is later discontinued?

Discontinued products will never disappear from your projects. While you will not be able to find a discontinued product by way of search, the reference point to the discontinued product remains in your project forever. When you click to view the product page, there's a message at the top of this page indicating that the product has been discontinued.
